A. PUSHKIN AND THE SLAVOPHIL. The aspect of the poet’s influece on the early Slavophil’s cretative self-definition

Abstract

Among Pushkin’s contemporaries were outstanding representatives of the early Slavophil’s movement. Their relations with Pushkin were of great importance and assisted in the development of the historic and national principles. In general these relations defined the historic development of Russian public thought. Pushkin’s historic tragedy “Boris Godunov” was like a powerful impulse for the contemporaries to think about Russia’s past and present and to form an interest to the philosophy of history. Pushkin’s generation realizing the history of Russia and national ideals greatly influenced on the Slavophil’s and formed an orthodox philosophy. The Slavophil’s based on the cultural and historic backgrounds of Russia and created a specific programme of national enlightenment which was strictly opposed to the European individualism and rationalism. The early Slavophil formed their aesthetic, philosophical and literary position under the Pushkin’s influence.
