Abstract
The article identifi es the main approaches to the establishment of social pedagogy
practice in ancient Greece. The role of the ancient institutions in solving problems of socialization
of children, adolescents and youth are shown in the context of the traditions of the
military democratic state. The role of teachers, mentors and relatives in childs development
at Spartan state is identifi ed. The features of state approach in social upbringing of young
generation are determined.
