The electronic net edition Russian Social and Humanitarian Journal” was founded in 2010 as an independent edition, different from printed journals of Moscow Region State University, which makes it possible to promptly publish articles about the latest achievements in exact sciences, natural and social-humanities.

In the second half of 2012 the journal was included into the list of Higher Certifying Commission (НСС) at the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation as a multidisciplinary edition.

Beginning from #4 2014, in accordance with the new requirements of HCC, the edition narrowed the range of problems under consideration to publishing articles in the sphere of politology, psychology and philology. At the same time the journal continued heading for the publication of the latest achievements and results of empirical research.

The articles on interdisciplinary problems were also welcomed as well as the materials from “round tables” on vital social-political topics.

Strictness in following the requirements to the quality of the articles together with readiness for promptly publishing the results of the latest scientific developments attracted the scientific community’s attention to the edition. The authors of the journal are researchers from Lomonosov Moscow State University, St. Petersburg State University, RANEPA under the President of the Russian Federation, Russian State University for the Humanities, Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, Ural Federal University named after the first President of Russia B.N. Yeltsin, Nizhny Novgorod State University named after N.I. Lobachevski, Surgut State University,

Tula State University, etc. Foreign researchers also started offering their publications.

The authority of the edition is proved by the dynamics of its citation. Starting from 2014 Bulletin of Moscow State Region University” has been among the leaders of SCIENCE INDEX РИНЦ rating, in 2020 it was the 69th out of 4282, it also has become the 7th out of the 484 interdisciplinary editions. The two-year impact-factor of the journal without considering self-citation is 1,16.

At the VIIth All-Russian “University Book” contest of editions for higher educational institutions the e-journal Bulletin of Moscow State Region University” was called the best electronic periodical.
