Abstract

The subject of the present article is the problem of translating political posters
as culturally marked creolized texts. The author analyzes the possibility of translating both
verbal and iconic components of these video-verbal texts of written communication and classifi
es creolized texts on the basis of their possible translation from/into a foreign language.
Visual intertexuality based on the likeness of creolized texts visual components is one of the
phenomena complicating the translation of semiotically challenged texts.
