TRANSLATION OF CONTEXTS WITH SPECIFIC TO THE RUSSIAN LANGUAGE SYNTACTIC APPROXIMATORS INTO GERMAN

Abstract
Aim. To determine the optimal ways to translate Russian-language contexts, which contain the inversion of a numeral and a noun, as means which express specific to the Russian language approximation as a semantic category into German.
Methodology. The contextual semantics of the use of numeral-noun inversion as a means of expressing approximation is calculated with use of contextual analysis of the material in Russian obtained from the Russian-German parallel module of the Russian National Corpus. To identify the frequency of approximators used in translations in German and their possible correlation with contextual-semantic groups of contexts in Russian, a comparative method was used.
Results. Inversion of a numeral and a noun as a syntactic approximator is used in Russian to convey time / period; age of a person; quantity (person / people, money, times, etc.); distance, temperature, area. It has been proven that the optimal way to translate such Russian-language contexts into German is to use the lexical approximator etwa.
Research implications. The publication makes a definite contribution to the study of categorial semantics and the specificity of the means of its expression in Russian and German using the capabilities of parallel corpora. The didactic potential of using parallel corpora in training translators is also revealed.
