VERBALIZATION OF ANTHROPONYMS WITH GLUTTONIC COMPONENTS IN CHILDREN’S AUDIOVISUAL TEXTS AND THEIR RUSSIAN TRANSLATION

Abstract

Aim. To study scientific and practical approaches to the translation of anthroponyms which form is based on gluttonic lexis in the system of ontolinguistic discourse.

Methodology. The proposed research uses stylistic, linguocultural, contextual, comparative, component, ontolinguistic and translational analysis of the originals of anthroponyms in children’s audiovisual text. The interdisciplinary approach used in the work is implemented at the intersection of linguistic, psycholinguistic and cognitive paradigms.

Results. The study revealed the following features of the lexical unit under study and its translation: glutonic vocabulary is an important component of children’s speech discourse, which explains its recurrence in anthroponyms (For example, the name Peaches or the teasers Anna-Banana, Lisa-Pizza). The glutonic component of an anthroponym has an important meaning in conveying the image of a character, but it is asymmetrically verbalized in the original and translated languages, leading to communicative losses in conveying the image of a character. To achieve a more accurate and complete transmission of the anthroponym, methods of usage an interdisciplinary approach are proposed and described. 

Research implications. The results of the study make it possible to contribute to the study of the phenomenon of anthroponymy at the junction of ontolinguistic, audiovisual and gluttonic discourses in the aspect of translation studies, as well as to more fully and accurately deal with practical challenges during the anthroponym translation.
