Abstract

Aim. To systematize results of Russian authors’ research specializing in studying the most effective mechanisms and methods of Russia’s counter-sanctions policy in the energetics.

Methodology. In the presented study, the views of domestic scientists representing various social and humanitarian disciplines are analyzed, offering different vision on countering the restrictive measures of unfriendly countries. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that the works of domestic scientists can be divided into semantic groups based on similar set of mechanisms and measures aimed at relatively painless bypass by Russia of the sanctions regime imposed by unfriendly countries.

Results. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that the works of Russian scientists can be divided into semantic groups based on a similar set of mechanisms and measures aimed at Russia’s relatively painless circumvention of the sanctions regime imposed by unfriendly countries.

Research implications. The classification of approaches to Russia’s counter-sanction activities in the energetics has been proposed, among which the priority-technological, diplomatic and complex-institutional approaches stand out. According to the conclusions presented in the final part of this work, the impact of sanctions requires constant study and interdisciplinary scrutiny due to the complexity and comprehensiveness. The mechanisms and methods of countering sanctions from unfriendly countries cannot be fully characterized as specific and extraordinary measures. In this regard, it was concluded that domestic researchers tend to think that countering sanctions from unfriendly countries is implemented through the adaptation of corporate and government systems, as well as the adjustment of already known institutionally formalized measures implemented in relation to the current situation, which is developing due to the increasing pressure on the domestic fuel and energy complex.
