https://doi.org/10.18384/2224-0209-2016-3-1066

Abstract

The article is devoted to the work of a prominent British novelist of the twentieth century Aldous Huxley. His attitude to the national literary tradition, in particular, to the English romanticism, is being explored. Having started his literary career as a poet, Huxley wrote about romanticism and English romantics throughout his life - in novels, essays, and letters considering it to be a type of artistic consciousness. The dynamics of Huxley's philosophical and artistic positions are reflected in the change of his assessments. The analysis of the writher's literary-critical thought development allows to clarify the evolution of his creative activity.
