The scale of the anthropogenic transformation of natural environment in the recent decades is constantly increasing. From the late 1990s animals have appeared in new wildlife management conditions. An attempt to comparatively estimate the change in the avifauna of mixed forests for 57 years was initiated in this work in connection with anthropogenic change of mixed wood and its surroundings. Calculations were made in the sections of the forest, located far from the converted territories. The analysis of the avifauna is represented in the comparative aspect, on the basis of the statistics of birds in 1954, 1987-1990, 1998-2000 and 2011. The environmental changes were relatively favorable for the plastic forms of birds and unfavorable for the narrow specialized forms. Fundamental changes in the avifauna for a 57 year period were not revealed. In 2011, after a small decrease in 1998-2000 years, an increase in the density of bird population to the level of 1954 was noted. Coeffi cient of the degree of similarity of specifi c variety during the periods from 1987 to 1990 and from 1998 to 2000 years have high value - 84,2, and 73,0 in 2011 respectively. The changes of avifauna are related to species composition. The dominant group of birds preserved its composition as a whole. The tendency of retention of the number of background and numerous species with insignifi cant reduction in their portion was outlined. Reduction in the number of usual species with the growth of their fraction in avifauna, reduction in the quantity and fraction of numerically insignifi cant species were observed.
