Цель. Выявление основных особенностей языковых средств, используемых при формировании понятия «языковая личность политика» в англоязычных источниках.

Процедура и методы

Процедура и методы. В состав комплексной методики вошли когнитивно-дискурсивный анализ, контекстуальный анализ, сравнительно-сопоставительный метод. Основное содержание исследования составляет анализ англоязычных текстов лингвополитологического характера и текстов выступлений политиков.

Результаты

Результаты. Проведённый анализ показал, что современные политики для создания своего имиджа (государственный деятель) и для получения ожидаемых результатов своих намерений при манипуляции общественным сознанием используют разнообразные языковые средства с их стилистико-функциональными особенностями.

Теоретическая и практическая значимость. Теоретическая значимость проведённого исследования может быть определена тем, что его результаты способны дополнить сведения о понятии «языковая личность политика», имеющиеся в новой формирующейся дисциплине – лингвополитологии. Практическая ценность заключается в возможном применении полученных результатов в вузовских курсах по общему и частному языкознанию, по общей и частной лексикологии, по стилистике английского языка и др.

Aim

Aim. To identify the main features of the language tools used in the formation of the concept of "linguistic personality of a politician" in English-language sources.

Methodology

Methodology. The complex methodology includes cognitive-discursive analysis, contextual analysis, and comparative method. The main content of the study is the analysis of English-language texts of a linguo-politological nature and texts of speeches by politicians.

Results

Results. The analysis has shown that modern politicians use a variety of linguistic means in their stylistic and functional features to create their image (statesman) and to obtain the expected results of their intentions to manipulate public consciousness.

Research implications

Research implications. The theoretical significance of the conducted research can be determined by the fact that its results are able to supplement the information about the concept of “a language personality of a politician” available in a new emerging discipline – linguopolitology. The practical value in the possible application of the results obtained in university courses in general and private linguistics, in general and special lexicology, in the stylistics of the English language, etc.
